NCMG Written Testing Information
How to complete written testing:
Visit the AKC Canine College course catalog and select the NCMG written exam(s) you need.
Purchase the exam and receive access instructions via email. Note: the system recommends using Google Chrome and ensuring your computer meets the proctoring requirements.
Prepare using the recommended study materials (breed profiles, grooming technique resources, NDGAA materials).
Once you’ve passed the written exams and practical evaluations and maintain the required average, you will qualify for the Master exam and full NCMG designation.
We encourage all qualified candidates to take advantage of this new online option and continue your path toward becoming a National Certified Master Groomer. For any questions about the process or eligibility, please contact us at groomer@akc.org.
* If you have previously taken any written tests that you do not see in your AKC Canine College account, please email groomer@akc.org to request your scores be transferred.
