Day 1 - July 25th

NDGAA Certification Orientation - 9:00-10:00AM

101 Curriculum - 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Preparation, Conditioning of Skin and Coat

- Normal skin and coat anatomy and the effects of the environment
- The Science of Skin and Coat Care
- Trimming Nails
- Cleaning Ears
- De-matting
- Brushing, Combing, Stripping and Carding
- Bathing
- Choosing/Using Shampoos & Conditioners
- Drying Techniques

Applying the Art of Pet Styling to the Anatomy and Breed Standards

- The Knowledge of Angulation and Canine Structure
- Understanding Balance and Symmetry
- Interpreting and Using Breed Standards

Working Smarter Not Harder
- Mechanics & Ergonomics
- Clippers, Blades, Attachments, Scissor, Thinning, Carding and Stripping
- Effective Equipment Handling

Live Demos

- Breed Specific Grooming Demonstration
- Applied to a Non-Sporting, Sporting and Two Terriers

 

Day 2 - July 26th

The Attendee’s dog’s will be evaluated on complete 101

Curriculum. Bring one dog to groom, workshop leaders will

review and evaluate your grooming. Perfect your skills with us!

Option #2
Register for 2nd Day Certification Testing Online

Attain NDGAA Certification Status - 9:00-4:00PM

During the 7-hour Hands-On Pet Styling Workshop the attendees dog(s) will be critiqued by NDGAA Certifiers and graded.  Attendees will be required to take the appropriate written exam.

Option 1&2:   Day Two attendees need to bring their own dog of choice, groom table, arm, long extension cord and all equipment needed to groom the dog they supply

* All dogs need to be bathed fresh, ears cleaned, nails trimmed, dried perfectly for the breeds standard
and be tangle free with a minimum of 8 weeks of coat growth if testing.

The Ultimate Grooming Tour allows attendees the opportunity to demonstrate
their grooming skills before NDGAA certifiers.

*All Curriculum & Demonstrations coincide with the NDGAA’s

Option #2 on Day 2 - NDGAA Certification Testing Information

CERTIFICATION TESTING - Register for 2nd Day Certification Testing Online
Acceptable breeds for a NDGAA Certification test are:

*Non-Sporting - Mini or Toy Poodle or Bichon
*Sporting- American or English Cocker Spaniel or English Springer
*Terrier - Long Legged breeds include: Miniature Schnauzer or
Wire Fox Terrier or Bedlington, Kerry Blue or Soft Coated Wheaten
*Terrier - Short Legged breeds include: West Highland Terrier, Scottish Terrier,
Sealyham Terrier or the Hand-stripped Cairn Terrier
(choose 2 terriers, 1 from long-legged and 1 from short-legged)
